Duties, Authorizations, and Responsibilities
Izmir Bakırçay University Research Supports and Infrastructures Office was established in accordance with Section One Article 3j, Section Four Article 12a, 12e, 13b, 14b and Section Six Article 42 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.
Our office entails the following core responsibilities, based on the application-research centres operating in the fields of Medicine and Health Technologies:
• Regulation of processes from the initiation/maturity stages of R&D activities to the output stages,
• Procurement and follow-up of necessary goods, materials and equipment support
• Providing technical and methodological support for potential qualified studies (publication, patent, intellectual property, etc.) resulting from these activities,
• Providing data support in the stages of determining and ranking the acceptability and accessibility of qualified outputs in national and international scientific arenas,
• Realization of process management to ensure that innovative products and methods with value-added potential are protected by patents and intellectual property rights specific to the university,
• Coordinating the licensing and commercialization of products and methods resulting from R&D projects that can be commercialized through university-industry collaborations.
The duties, authorizations, and responsibilities of our office can be summarized as follows:
• Scientific Research and Business Development: Coordination of scientific research development and collaborations, the transformation of scientific research and research outputs into commercial activities such as licensing, and the creation of strategic scientific research activities.
• Patent and Intellectual Property Support: Protecting all kinds of intellectual property belonging to products and methods that are likely to be formed from qualified projects and taking the necessary initiatives in coordination with the inventors in order to patent these research outputs and following up the processes.
• Scientific Research Performance: Measuring the performance and efficiency of scientific research, ensuring the dissemination of its results, researcher management and knowledge transfer activities.
• Scientific Research Supports: Conducting funding research, managing research grants, ethics studies, scientific research agreements and management of human capital and intellectual property rights.
• Research Data: Management of information systems related to the tracking of qualified scientific outputs that are likely to be produced as a result of research and development activities, statistical consultancy, data analysis, reporting, academic translation and technical publication support activities.
• Research Laboratories Infrastructure Monitoring: Activities related to the utilization, sharing, management, and improvement of technical equipment made available for research and development purposes through university-centralized laboratories within the scope of R&D.
