Publication & Citation Statistics

The scientific activities of universities and other academic institutions are shared locally or globally through research or review articles and presentations/posters presented at congresses and symposia in the most efficient way. These exchanges can also pave the way for outputs such as scientific products/methods in certain fields to be developed more efficiently by different scientists operating in the same field. Thanks to these exchanges, it is inevitable that the scientific publications produced as a result of the studies carried out in the same field will be created with reference to the works of different scientists in the past, and the number of citations of the relevant scientists and their publications will increase.

Numerical statistics on scientific publications and citations are made available through databases that are capable of searching different scientific field indexes on a local or global scale, thus creating a competitive environment by comparing the scientific output performance of scientists and the institutions they are affiliated with, as well as understanding which scientific research fields have become globally trending based on different time frames.  As a result, it is also possible for different countries to carry out innovative and sustainable studies individually or in collaboration, on trending topics nationally or internationally.

Publication-citation statistics are obtained from the Web of Science, Scopus, and MLA databases, which include the most internationally valid field indexes. In addition, institution-based national publications can also be accessed through the TRDizin database. In the relevant databases, the breakdowns determined for institution-based publication searches, which are carried out periodically by filtering the year/scientific publication type, are organized based on the following grouping system:

Group 1 Publications: Research articles and reviews indexed by WoS (SCI + SSCI + AHCI).

Group 2 Publications: Research articles and reviews indexed by WoS (SCI + SSCI + AHCI + ESCI).

Group 3 Publications: Research articles and reviews indexed by WoS + Scopus + MLA (SCI + SSCI + AHCI + Scopus + MLA).

Group 4 Publications: Research articles and reviews indexed by WoS + Scopus + TRDizin (SCI + SSCI + AHCI + Scopus + MLA + TRDizin).
