Izmir Bakırçay University is positioned as an entrepreneurial university focusing on health technologies within the Turkish higher education institution ecosystem, as outlined in its vision and mission statements. Increasing the utilization of resources related to research in processes that enhance university-industry collaboration is crucial for the transformation of research into products and collaborations based on these products, sustainability, and the establishment of a self-sufficient scientific institution.
Health technologies, as a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research field, encompass a wide range of technical and social phenomena. In general terms, the rapid developments in the field of information technology along with advancements in health technologies lead to the emergence of new products and services, and the development of new processes to support this formation. Therefore, the development and implementation of advanced information technology-supported health systems have been identified as a strategic goal for the world of the future.
The primary function of the İzmir Bakırçay University Research Support and Infrastructure Coordination Office is to provide technical and administrative support to the R&D ecosystem, with a focus on the health and medical fields in the first phase. Additionally, coordination of technical, methodological, and incentive support mechanisms is aimed to be ensured during the stage of generating high-quality R&D outputs.
